And Now Over to Paul With the Weather
Well I knew when I decided to start a network of city based blogs I would have to find a way to display local weather on the sites. The weather is a “sticky” topic/content.
The thing about my city that I check most online is, of course the weather and I was really hoping to not have to stick one of those ugly weather network icons on to the sites.
But wait, this is the magical world of WordPress and if you can dream of it, someone has probably written a great plugin for it. Luckily the same holds true for the weather.
You can find an extremely cool local weather plugin for WordPress here. The plugin is very impressive, and I have to say the admin page and fine level of customization possible make it one the most elegant plugins I’ve ever seen.
You can see it live on Chattanooga is Home, I’ve left it as a by request feature for the bloggers, as I don’t see it being a good fit for all the sites; it is 72 degrees and sunny every day in L.A. after all.
Oh and there’s been some blogging and commenting going on about “Winter” and just to set the record straight, I think you all should remove the word from your vocabularies. Here’s the view from my office window, and I’m going to be seeing the same thing until April

I knew I would catch some grief from someone when I complained about the cold here in Chattanooga! It definitely could be worse, but still… I guess it is human nature to complain about something we can’t change.
