Jon, will the writers retain ownership of their content?

Barbra,
It is my intention to have the writers own the content and have Home Turf Media license it from them. I still need to work out the details beyond that, but it would be something like Home Turf owns the exclusive online rights [possibly for a length of time and then becoming non-exclusive] and the writers can retain all other rights.
Let me know if that sounds fair, I’m still forming these policies and they will always be open for review.

Jon,
Do you have any city/country specifications for this 3 city bloggers job post ?
I would love to blog about my city, Istanbul.

Hi Mara,
To be honest, for the first 3 sites I am leaning towards North America. But, once I’ve worked out the systems with these three, I would love to open it up to world-wide blogs. I encourage you to send in some sample to me so I can have a look at what you have in mind.

I am and American living in Prague. It’s amazing here.

I notice you have the payment stipulations crossed out. Are the additional blog jobs, past the initial 3 testers, still payed. I’m interested if this is the case.

@Face,
The next jobs are paid, they just won’t have the first 3 months guaranteed. Besides that, the blogger gets the first $100, and then it is a 60/40 split in the blogger’s favor. Feel free to send an application for the next round of sites.

Although I’m a novice blogger and still learning about (let alone working on) the networking thing, I’m pretty sure I can write the kind of thing you’re looking for, and get responses to it. But I feel barred from applying given the fact that I had never heard of Digg, Technorati, etc., until yesterday.

Also, I have a few questions. Such as:

I’m a little confused as to what “pre-launch” means. If people can still read the blogs and comment on them and link to them, how is it not launched?

I think I had some other questions, but I’ll leave you with this and my “should I apply or not” wonderings, for now.

Hi Jenn, I answered your questions here

Jon
