Kathryn - San Francisco
Kathryn Vercillo has always been committed to defying all limitations. She began speaking at a mere four months old and was reading by the age of two, developing a lifelong fascination with language which has carried her in to her current career as a writer. Whether it was getting in to college without a high school diploma or taking off on a whim to explore the country in her pick-up truck, Kathryn always danced her way easily across all barriers, collecting stories every step of the way. Although she is not afraid of challenging the boundaries of others, it is her own creative limits which she pushes daily.
With a style which ranges from the highly polished and professional to the completely creative and quirky, she continues to defy her own limitations with every tap on the keyboard. Kathryn’s work has appeared online and in print for numerous publications including Sure Shot, 13 Minutes, Skope, Latino y Style, Diminished 7th, Vintage Rock, Indie In Tune, Trip Advisor, Hungry? San Francisco, and SF Travel. She has just completed a book entitled Ghosts of San Francisco, to be published by Schiffer Publishing in Autumn 2007, and is currently working on Ghosts of Alcatraz. Kathryn co-owns and operates MoKa House which provides freelance writing services of all kinds to individuals and businesses.
Kathryn first arrived in San Francisco on a whim when she was 18 and she fell head over heels in love with the city. She is certain that if there is such a thing as soulmates in this world, San Francisco is hers. She made the move to living there full time in January 2006 and feels that her experience as a tourist, transplant and local involved in the community combine to give her a unique perspective on all it has to offer. She is happy to head the San Francisco page for Home Turf Media.
